We have almost 2 acres of Howell Mountain AVA Cabernet Sauvignon grapes growing on our property. The harvest yields an average of 6.5 tons of exceptional quality grapes for making a premium Howell Mountain Cab.

About Ponderosa Vines
Brent and Laura Albrecht took ownership of the property in 2021. 1.68 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon were planted in 2001 and another .2 acres added in 2018 for 1.88 net vine acres.
Vineyard gets full sun and protected by the surrounding Ponderosa Pine trees native to the area.
Rootstock is 110 R, and clone is Entave 191 with 4x4 spacing in vineyard. Vineyard is in the Howell Mountain AVA at 1936 ft.
2026 Season
March 1, 2026
The 2026 vineyard season is underway! In February we spread compost in the vineyard and tilling under the vines . The big next step will pruning this week. Pretty view of the sunset from approx 100 ft above the vineyard, courtesy of my drone. Post pruning pics coming this week.

Ponderosa Vines was proud to partner with Stressed Vines, who turned our fruit into amazing Howell Mountain Cab for the 22, 23 & 24 Vintages. Stressed Vines Howell Mountain Cab, currently the 2022 has been released.
Our 2021 fruit went to three different wineries, each putting their own personal spin into the winemaking, which is exciting for us to taste our fruit from 3 different wineries and see what they do with it. On that note, our 2021 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon vintage that Oleandri Wines produced received 92 points from both Wine Advocate and Wine Enthusiast. Great work Oleandri Wines!
