September 1, 2022
Veraison is long past and grapes are ripening. Sugars are increasing, and the flavor profile is changing. We are at approx 20 Brix at the beginning of September, which means harvest could come as early as the end of September/beginning of October, That would make this an earlier than normal harvest as we usually pick around mid October. However, the Stressed Vines winemaker will be making more frequent visits this month, and we will be monitoring sugars, acid levels as well as tasting lots of grapes to watch for the flavors to fully develop, and only then will we harvest.
